Do you really need an exotic car?

If you are reading this page then im pretty sure that you have already known what exotic cars or sportscars are. They are the superfast and superexpensive vehicles which normal citizens can't afford. They look tempting and we've seen them in the movies and the latest hip-hop videos and its not so surprising why most of us dream about owning one of those lamborghinis or ferraris or whatever it is. However, a majority of us can never afford one in our lifetime but for those of the ones who are young and ambitious you need to think about it. Is it really worth the money which you are going to spend? Well, not really!

If you are not a millionaire or the heir of a multi national corporation you better let go of the exotic dreams cause you would only waste your time doing it. Go for functionality over luxury and you could still live the life of your dreams...going for shopping, or a date, or a weekend ride with friends and families, a modest car can do it all. Contrary to most believes a sportscar is not really different from a modest road car when you are going to use it only for dropping your kids to school or going to office. In fact, a simple car would be more practical if you live in the city.

Pros and Cons of an exotic car:

Pros:

1. Owning a million euro car makes you stand out wherever you go be it in the market or to a party or anywhere. It elevates your status. But, if you are not a very wealthy businessman or a celebrity you don't really need that! In fact there a certain companies that rents out sportscars so you can try them out and WOW her if you need to. Moreover you don't really need those carbon fibre bodies and the pedal shifts.

2. You can go over 200miles an hour with most exotic cars. But, every country has speed limits and even in the American highways you are not allowed to go over 130kmph which even a modest car could do and in case you cross that limit you will be booked and have to pay a fine or even get into prison if things get worse. So your money goes to waste.

Cons:

1. Its not practical for day-to-day use. Your hard earned money is a waste if you only end up in the traffic moving at the speed of a snail. However, a small modest car is easy and practical to live with.

2. Its too thirsty! sportscars are the worst when it comes to mileage i.e. fuel consumption. An average sportscar would give you a mileage of about 8kml which makes no sense when compared to the 15-20kml mileage given by the conventional road cars. you would still go where you want to go and save on gas.

3. Hard to maintain. do you guys know that you need to change the brakes, tires and clutches every couple of months and that alone will cost you thousands of dollars. and the sad thing is that if you don't maintain these beasts properly, you will be the next guy to be featured on 'wrecked exotics'. Thousands of exotic cars have been on fire due to improper maintenance. what would you feel if you buy a lamborghini for $2000000 and it got burnt to ashes in a second? On the other hand, inexpensive cars are easy to maintain. you don't need to check your brakes or clutches everyday and you would only spend a couple hundred dollars on maintenance a year.

CONCLUSION:

And the list goes on and on.....so now that you've understood some of the basic diiferences between a sportscar and a normal road car, making a decision would'nt be that hard anymore. well, if you got the money get the exotics but if you can't afford one you don't have to consider yourself unlucky. Remember the cons pointed out above!
